Assists the Director of Health Information Management with all aspects of the Health Information and Medical Records process. 
  • Performs the functions of assembling and analyzing discharged patient’s medical records. 
  •     Assists with updating incomplete/deficient medical records as needed. 
  • Assists with the filing of all incoming patient medical record documentation. 
  • Assists with the copying and release of medical records after the chart has been reviewed upon direction of the Director
      of Health Information Management. 
  • Provides assistance with all aspects of chart organization, transcription and administrative reports for age appropriate
  •   Provide communication to physicians related to Health Information Management. 
  • Practice safe handling of hazardous materials. Hazards include exposure to blood and body fluids, possible
      communicable diseases, sharp objects and instruments, assorted chemicals and gasses as listed in the Hazardous
    Materials Program Manual. 
  • Comply with measures for preventing exposure to blood borne pathogens. 
  • Adhere to all components of the Hospital Compliance Plan in performing job duties and report any violations or
      suspected violations of the Plan to the compliance Officer. 
  • Adhere to hospital attendance policy as set out in the Employee Handbook. 
  • Demonstrate professional conduct and comply with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.  
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent 
Current experience in a hospital/long term care facility HIM Department 
Knowledge of Medical Terminology 
Knowledge of HIPAA 
Computer literate 
Knowledge of Coding
