ASHOV Sponsors Bridging the Gap Event

STEUBENVILLE, OH, June 7, 2016 – Acuity Specialty Hospitals of the Ohio Valley (ASHOV) is proud to sponsor “Bridging the Gap” an event structured to unite the healthcare community to prevent unnecessary re-admissions. ASHOV is joining forces with other event sponsors, such as Capital Health Home Care, Respiratory Care Solutions LLC, and Sienna Nursing and Rehab, to host a meet and greet forum for healthcare professionals who would like to share ideas for preventing unnecessary hospital re-admissions.

When: Thursday, June 16 from 5 – 7 p.m.
Where: Sienna Nursing & Rehab • 250 Cadiz Rd., Wintersville, Ohio 43953

Who’s Invited?
Healthcare providers such as physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, discharge planners, social workers, skilled care providers, home health agency providers, rehabilitation representatives, and DME representatives who are interested in reducing unnecessary hospital re-admissions in the Ohio Valley. William Johns, MD, will also speak during the event.

According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, one in five patients is readmitted to the hospital within 30 days of discharge. That not only puts patients at risk for developing infections and other complications, but it also causes a financial strain for the healthcare system.

“Since it was started in 2013, Bridging the Gap has given participants an opportunity to discuss innovative strategies for reducing the number of preventable readmissions,” said Tracey L. Cutri, RN, CCM, Director of Case Management at Acuity Specialty Hospital and organizer for Bridging the Gap. “Ultimately, this will help to improve patient care and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the healthcare system. We look forward to sharing many more ideas at the next meet and greet forum.”

To RSVP for Bridging the Gap, call 740-314-9327 or email Tracey Cutri by Monday, June 13, 2016.
